‘The Archies’: Zoya Akhtar’s musical starring Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor officially goes on floors

After much hype and anticipation, Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ has finally gone on floors.

Producer Reema Kagti on Monday made the official announcement by sharing a photo of a clapper board and wrote, “Archie’s shoot starts. #TigerBaby’s first solo production. Partner in crime @zoieakhtar.”

This update comes weeks after Etimes paparazzi got you the exclusive first shots of the musical’s lead stars – Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Khushi Kapoor and Vedang Raina.

Our cameras got the first footage of the young talents at the studios for a look test. The images saw Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Agastya as Archie Andrews, Khushi as Betty Cooper and Vedang as Jughead Jones.
The four, who will be making their Bollywood debut with this musical, will introduce the teenagers of Riverdale to a new generation in India. Unlike the American teen drama ‘Riverdale’, this new adaptation will get a ‘Desi’ twist.

Although the pictures are out for all to see, Zoya has yet to officially announce the lead stars of her dream project.

The director announced her new project in 2021 saying, “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archies to life. It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous.”

Akhtar is currently working on her film ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan’ that stars Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav.
